During the last week of April, the students of year 5 decided to work on the topic “Matter and forces” by means of a project.
To do so, we created what we called “Group of experts”. These groups were formed by four pupils who worked hard on specific parts of the subject. By working together and sharing ideas, we became experts in different issues such as matter and changes, matter and its properties or new materials and its uses.
In the next step, we created new groups. Each new team had one expert from the former groups. This way, each pupil could show and teach their teammates what he or she had learnt previously.
For the next part, we put all the new ideas into practice to create a power point presentation. We really enjoyed doing it! Everyone was responsible for their own part in the presentation so the whole group could do a great job. We looked for information, we designed the slides and we even included some music and pictures.
In the final stage, we presented our final work in front of the whole class. It wasn’t easy but we all did great! It was awesome to see how other classmates had done our work in a different way. We even make some questions which helped us to learn a lot of new things which we didn’t realize in our own project. Isn’t that amazing?
